Custom Coasters are my bread and butter of sorts. Any sprite smaller than 45 pixels can be accomodated with either 14 or 16-point Aida cloth. The coasters themselves are made of clear acrylic and have a cork bottom glued tight to protect the design. I charge $15 for a single coaster which includes shipping.
The rest of my examples are the designs before being put in the coasters. I will always show the finished design to the commissioner before sealing them inside and then sending them off.
This page contains coasters I made for myself and my friends and family. For convention and commissioned coasters, please click on the links below.
King Slime from Dragon Quest Monsters, ripped by Bean and edited by me
There was just something about the colorful and simple King Slime that called to me and recalled those memories of playing DQ4 with my mom. He was eventually sold at Anime Weekend Atlanta 14 to a woman in the most amazing Slime cosplay outifit of all time.
Link and the Triforce from the Legend of Zelda, ripped by Bucketboy
A gift for Orin Drake. We joked that the Triforce is the ultimate "shiny" - her term for all manner of jewelry and other sparkly things.
Kefka from Final Fantasy VI, ripped by MechaChao
A gift for Karras. He specifically asked for "Kefka flicking people off" because it is perfectly in character.
Orgization XIII mini sprite free from ⅩⅢ機関UNION, text by me.
This was made to commemorate OrgLIX (a Kingdom Hearts audio drama group) going to AnimeUSA. Since we didn't have enough entries to our script contest, this coaster was given to Orin Drake. Also, there are a number of Japanese sites that have free to use custom sprites such as the one linked above. You can find more at MoeMoeDot Union.
My first text-only design. In addition to being a craft and video game geek, I also love to watch Food Network. When I had the opportunity to attend an autograph session with Guy Fieri, I decided that I had to make a coaster to commemorate the occasion. I gave him a matching mini-stitch and yes, he did sign my coaster.
